Unicorn Foundation NZ is a registered charity established to support and advocate for patients with Neuroendocrine Cancer, (NET Cancer).
Unicorn Foundation NZ aims to provide support and accurate information to patients, families and medical professionals involved in NET cancer. We support clinical research and we are lobbying for funding and further treatment options to become available to NZ patients.
Unicorn Foundation NZ brings patients together either in person or online by building a community to ensure patients no longer feel isolated with their diagnosis. UFNZ has also contributed and influenced clinical research projects, ethical committees and continues to have an on-going dialogue with the medical professionals who are at the forefront of treating NET's.
Unicorn Foundation NZ is a registered charity aiming to provide support and information to patients, families and medical professionals involved in the treatment for Neuroendocrine Tumours/Cancer (NET Cancer).
Around one New Zealander every day is diagnosed with NET Cancer - which makes this cancer more common than brain, thyroid, ovarian and cervical cancers. These tumours are typically slow growing cancer, which means there are thousands of kiwis living and trying to manage this cancer. Right now, they desperately need improved access to treatment.
We are currently working towards bringing specialised treatment called PRRT to NZ. Currently our NET cancer patients have to self-fund and travel to Australia to receive it, (no government support) which personally costs each patient around $50,000. This is a huge amount of money and stress for someone facing cancer treatment. We really appreciate your support, especially as we are a very small charity so every dollar donated will make a huge difference. Please help us improve the lives of thousands of kiwis.
