Waikara Marae Wharekai (kitchen/dining) destroyed by electrical Fire.

We are asking for any help to support a small Northland Marae who’s Wharekai (kitchen/dining) was destroyed on the 27th December 2015 after an electrical fire ripped through the building .
The Waikara Marae Whanau (family) managed to save their treasured Wharenui (meeting house) by rallying together and collecting buckets of water to douse the flames preventing serious damage. The family are devastated at the loss of the Wharekai that now limits their ability to continue to service their community in a proactive and hands-on way.
The family would be extremely grateful for any donations to go towards the re-building of its kitchen/dining.
