The Wanaka Community House Charitable Trust has been working on getting a facility built for many years. A Community House is a centre for local services and organisations to use at an affordable price.
These facilities are proved to strengthen relationships between service providers and promote positive social wellbeing for the whole community. We are raising funds for building an energy efficient building so that ongoing running costs will be kept low for tenants.
We aim to have the facility open in mid 2019 and at the moment - interest indicates it will be full on opening day!

The Wanaka Community House Charitable Trust is building a facility in Wanaka for the benefit of the people of the Upper Clutha.
A Community House is a centre for local services, organisations, government services, clubs and the general public. Such a facility strengthens relationships between providers and can help advocate for increased community services. We are raising money to build a new facility in Wanaka.
The building is estimated to cost $3.8 million.To date we have raised $2.1M, so need to raise just over a third of the cost. Every little donation helps us to reach our goal.

Funding announced from Otago trusts 19 December 2017
Central Lakes Trust and the Otago Community Trust have announced a $2.1 million funding boost to support the Wanaka Community House project for the Upper Clutha area!
Central Lakes Trust approved a $1.4 million donation at its recent November board meeting and Otago Community Trust approved a $700,000 donation towards the project.
This is fantastic news for the community house project prior to Christmas! Our fundraising committee is going into overdrive planning fundraising activities that will kick off in the New Year.
