In Christchurch, The Kind Foundation offers a wide variety of programmes and services to our diverse communities. This includes a range of social enterprise activities (such as Hotel Give, Pūmanawa Early Learning Centres, Elevate Fitness and Clip 'n Climb) which provide income to support our charitable causes – specifically developing children and youth and providing free programmes and services to families who have financial vulnerability.

Even the smallest of donations goes a long way at The Kind Foundation– and your gift is one which pays it forward again and again, by directly impacting on the wellbeing of a child, a young person or a family.

The Kind Foundation’s purpose is to meet and relate to the needs of people in our community, in a way that will encourage them to develop as individuals, express their own needs and reach their full potential.

The Kind Foundation does this through programmes and relationships, our staff are guided by the four core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Our core purpose is to Invest in the Next Generation and this is how we are doing it:

Young People

Volunteering opportunities, leadership training, youth development programmes, outdoor education and fitness memberships and courses

Older Adults

Life Fit programme, offering fitness classes and recreational opportunities for adults 60+

Parents and Families

Providing holiday programmes and camps, quality early childhood education, and after school recreation programmes

Fitness

Affordable and friendly – two great gyms with a range of classes, facilities and services.

People with Disabilities

Range of recreational opportunities and inclusive facilities and policies

Young people--keeping fit in your great outdoors and Y gym, not overweight that puts digestion at risk--through self-reliance and hard work, will succeed. Try different kinds of jobs. Worry not of university grades or initial failures. Donor thrived as lawyer even with only average grades in school. Importantly: Caring for and helping other people makes each of us feel better as we all look forward to better times.
