Africa Fashion Festival New Zealand

  • Me da se - Thank you

      6 April 2015

Happy Easter Monday everyone. The campaign ended yesterday not to the outcome I was believing for. The great news, the result hasn't dampened my spirit so the journey to bring Africa Fashion Festival still continues.

Thank you sincerely friends, family, acquaintance, backers and supporters for your unwavering support for me and this project. No amount of words can express how grateful I am to you for giving generously to support this campaign. We got nearly a third of the way and that's great progress.

I recently read somewhere that if you focus on results, you cant see progress but if you focus on progress you see results. I have always known that a $30,000 target was ambitious and have prepared myself for an outcome like this. To me this is not a failure and the fact the campaign has closed without $30K in ADJOAA account has not diminished my drive for this project. I am as passionate and enthusiastic today as I was the very first day I embarked on this journey, so watch the space.

I still need support so if you are still keen to support me beyond this campaign then contact me at pinaman@africafashionfestival.com or alternatively, you can make a donation to:

    ADJOAA Limited

    ANZ Bank

    06-0193-0408829-00

    Ref: AFFNZ

As a wise person once said "things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out ~ John Wooden". It is time to rest up before heading back to the drawing board to re-strategise.

Thank you once again and for believing in my dream and reaching into your pockets/wallets to assist me. God bless you for your kindness.

    Stay fabulous.

    Kindest regards,

    Pinaman

  • 48 Hours and yay! We've reached 30% !

      3 April 2015

I know crowdfunding is no walk in the park. Over the last four weeks I have spent every spare minute reaching out to friends, supporters and backers for help with this project. I have been pushed out of my comfort zone and been incredibly humbled by this whole experience. I have had people reaching out from unexpected places in New Zealand, friends learning more about the Continent of Africa and strangers generously giving to support this campaign.

Monday 30 March will forever be etched in my memory as a day of great blessing for me and the project. A great article in stuff (Dominion Post) by Jessy Edwards, hefty donations from friends and a wonderful interview with Laurie Foon, host of B-Side Stories on Wellington Access Radio discussing my drive, passion and vision for Africa Fashion and Africa Fashion Festival New Zealand. Here's a link to the interview https://m.soundcloud.com/b-side-broadcasts/pinaman-owusu-africa-fashion-festival

Thank you to everyone of our pledgers, supporters, backers and friends. I

believe that we can still meet this goal if you reach out to your friends, family and network and ask them to support my project. We need 420 generous people to each give at least $50 before Sunday to make this a success. So get behind me New Zealand and lets make this happen.

    Happy Easter to you all.

    Stay blessed and fabulous. X

    Regards

    P

Three days till end of this campaign and I'm still as hopeful as ever. I am also learning a lot about myself. I really get giddy when I receive a notification about a pledge. I am literally like a kid in a candy store each time a pledge comes through. I have had many tears of joy because each pledge affirms your confidence in me and this project. Thank you truly for the vote of confidence and for sharing in my passion.

I know have some way to go and need your help - please continue to spread the word and get your friends and network to make a pledge to Africa Fashion Festival campaign.

Before I sign off, here is a link to the feature in the Dom Post http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/fashion/67546072/Hosting-Wellingtons-first-African-Fashion-Festival I also made the cover of Wellington’s hippest publication, Capital Magazine. I'm really stoked and very humbled by all the support.

I have another news to share with you tomorrow so be sure to check out update number five?

Thanks to everyone who has pledge and anyone planning to?

    Stay fabulous.

    Habari!

10 more days till the end of this campaign New Zealand! The pressure is on! We are $26,000 short of reaching our goal but I am not ready to give up yet!

I am humbled by the support friends, acquaintances and the New Zealand public are showing for Africa Fashion Festival. I am thankful to everyone who has pledged, offered words of encouragement and believed in this initiative.

I am confident that with your support we can reach the $30k target! So spread the word and get your friends and whanau to give towards our project.

We need 800 people (less than 1% of New Zealand population) to contribute $25-$50 each towards this campaign to make it a success. If you're reading this, I appeal to you to pledge and tell others to lend their support to assist me and the Africa Fashion Festival campaign.

I leave you with a few photos (see Gallery) from our recent event at Bond Street.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Me da se (Thank you in Twi, Akan lanaguage).

    Pinaman

  • Making progress

      22 March 2015

Hello AFFNZ supporters and dream Sparkers!

We are making steady progress! Just inch closer to 10% of our campaign goal. I am believing all the generous supporters out there will back us and make a pledge to our project. We have less than 14 DAYS TO GO and need 900 PEOPLE to give us at least $30 to $50 each to help us fund this project! We know this is an ambitious goal but believe in your generosity and know with your backing we can definitely achieve this goal. So make a PLEDGE and encourage your friends to BACK our project.

Here's a link to a short clip from Capsule Runaway Show we recently held at Bond Street in Wellington.

Many thanks for supporting Africa Fashion Festival.

    Regards,

    Pinaman

Your generous pledge has given this campaign a good start. We know we have our work cut out for us. So please help us by sharing the video link with your network of friends and ask them to support this fantastic cause. We have 21 days to achieve this goal. As you know it's all or nothing. So spread the word and help me and the amazing Africa Fashion Festival team bring this project to New Zealand.
