Please buy Corky a new Xbox headset. Or give him one. $300 is for a Rig 800 wireless headset.
Auckland
I game online with a group of mates across the country at least 3 times a week. We suck. Mainly we do it for the banter and to escape being middle aged and not fun anymore.
My dearest friend, Andrew (Corky) refuses to purchase a new Xbox headset. Mainly because finances are tight and he won't prioritise his friends sanity over his family (can't blame him really).
Andrew has two headsets both with their own intrinsic issues, but to summarise;
1. Headset A - creates a feedback loop where all members of the party hear themselves say everything twice. After 15 minutes of this feedback loop, my bloodpressure raises by 30 points and the vain on my forehead can be visibly seen throbbing.
Another friend Kris reportedly has to drink while online gaming now and the stress generated by the feedback led to his previous relationship dissolving and an addiction to Quikeze ant-acids.
2. Headset B - A $15 junk item that creates a reverberating static noise through game chat that sounds like high tension lines. This rythmic buzzing has been described by another friend Matty as "worse than waterboarding", mainly because "at least after a while being waterboarded, you drown".
It's more punishing than the last Rambo Movie and in similar fashion to the Sylvester Stallone franchise... The headset refuses to die.
Anything over and above will be donated to the Missing Wingman Trust.
Corky's Headset. No more. No less.
Although technically it's paying for mine and the rest of our groups mental health and well being.
Really!? Well let's keep going then! 24 August 2020
I've got to be honest team. Didn't even think this would get approved.
Then bam - almost all the way to the goal. Just like that.
Andrew will be embarrassed. But that's not my fault.
I can almost imagine only hearing myself talk once when we ready up for another dropzone plunder trio........ Ahhhhhh dreamy.
