Kiwi made short film- Coming of age language drama about farewelling countries and friendships you fall in love with while travelling

Auckland

'Al amor juvenil no le deberia hacer falta el vino' (Young love shouldn't need wine) is a 10-15 minute coming of age language comedy drama, and a bittersweet end friendship and love story.

When two exchange students and good friends Markus (Swede) and Emily (Kiwi) meet in the capital city Buenos Aires to spend one final day together, they find themselves in a restaurant reminiscing about the weird and wacky ways in which Argentina changed them. Their two effervescent and constantly happy personalities are part of what keeps the love and spark of the short film alive and exciting to watch. They decide to have one last night in Buenos Aires making memories and utilising the very free-spirited country before both returning to their own countries and back to normality.

YOUNG LOVE SHOULDN'T NEED WINE confronts the sadness of falling in love with a new country but having to leave eventually, the sadness of friendships you have to put on hold, and the beautiful friendship of two teenagers as they encounter other such humorous personalities and make memorable friendships.

A large number of the Argentinian community in Auckland has jumped on board to support an Argentinian film being made in Auckland, NZ. From restaurant to bar to wine shop owners- they will all lend us their facilities which help create an authentic Argentinian vibe.

ANY money - from $1 to $5 to anything at all will help us. We need costs to pay for petrol, to feed the cast crew and extras, to buy any props for set dressing such as paintings, art, costume etc. It will all be spent on the most essential things. It would be nice to be able to donate a little money to each location who helps out for their time.

A short film that promotes culture diversity and acceptance, raises awareness for the hillarious Spanish language and the need to culturally immerse yourself and go out of your comfort zone, and the bittersweet truth about love and friendships that aren't always peachy clean.

We need your help.

Emily Weiss' involvement (page creator)

My name is Emily Weiss and I am an 18 year old film maker! I study Production, Directing and Scriptwriting at South Seas film school in Auckland. In order to complete my diploma I must write and direct a short film, and 'Al amor juvenil no le deberia hacer falta el vino' (Young love shouldn't need wine) is my final project.

I am extremely passionate, driven, and ambitious and I strive for high quality work and have high work ethics for myself. I want to be able to produce a top quality short film that I am extremely proud of and that a lot of people around the world can relate to.
