Raising funds to replace a 13 year old weather station for Fairfield Dunedin.
Otago
I have provided the weather details, including rain amounts, temperatures, barometric pressures, wind speeds and directions etc for Fairfield Dunedin for the last 13 years.
Unfortunately after 13 years of harsh weather conditions, the station has failed. I have provided needed repairs to keep it going, but no longer is this viable. I am unable to source replacement parts so to get this back up and running, i will need to fund new equipment.
I was not going to set up a new station, however, many people have contacted me advising how they have followed the website for years and would really like to see a replacement station be commissioned. They have all suggested that they would like to donate, so therefore have made a decision to try and raise funds to get a new setup up and running.
Hundreds of thousands of visits locally, nationally, and internationally have been made to the Live Weather Display webpage that is operating 24 hours 7 days a week non stop.
Weather data over the 13 years the station has been in operation has been stored on the website and has been used by many organisations in the past.
If the funds target is reached with pledges, the funds will then be deducted from the donors. Once the target is reached, I will purchase a new weather station, set this up to the computer, and have it upload the weather data for Fairfield Dunedin.
I have been contacted by many followers of the weather site who have said they would like to contribute to the purchase of new equipment so have set up this page to reach the target of $750 in pledges to be able to purchase a new weather station for the many loyal followers.
