Hiwinui Needs A Defibrillator For The Community

$3,136 of $3,000 goal
Given by 21 generous donors in 10 weeks

This project has reached its target. You may still donate to this project if you wish.

Defibrillators save lives! Using a defibrillator in the first 3-5 mins can increase survival rate by 40%. Every second counts!

Manawatu / Whanganui

If we can raise the funds a 24/7 accessible defibrillator will be available at the school. This will be managed and serviced by the Hiwinui Community Group.

As a rural community, getting to the hospital or an ambulance getting here takes time. A defibrillator could mean the difference between life and death.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) - Are simple for everyone to use and with it located at the school it is the best location to service this area.

However if we want one, we will need to raise the funds. This is an all or nothing request. If we do not make the target donations will not be charged.

So if we want it, then we need to give all need to give a little.

Use of funds

If we can raise the funds we shall purchase and install a St John Heartstart at Hiwinui School.

Any additional funds shall go to the maintenance and servicing of the unit.
