Funds required to purchase and complete the replica Cobb & Co coach . We have a short window of time to raise the funds.

Otago

In the early years of European settlement in Otago Cobb & Co operated a coach service between Dunedin, the gold fields at Gabriels Gully and the coastal settlement at Waikouaiti. The coach service was hugely instrumental to the early development of this region. A local Museum Conservation Engineer was commissioned to produce a replica coach for display purposes. Part way through the construction of the coach the project was cancelled. We now have a small window of time to raise funds to purchase and complete the coach to display at the new Waikouaiti Heritage Centre. The project is approximately eighty percent complete and the work to date is of an extremely high standard. Construction is for the most part steel and designed for outside display. When positioned alongside the main highway this will become a real focal point for the district.

Use of funds

Funds raised will be used to;

1. Purchase the incomplete coach

2. Complete the project

3.Mount the coach for display adjacent to Main highway

Any surplus funds will be used to further the development of the Waikouaiti Coast Heritage centre
