We do not have enough funds to support our residency application and get it through before we would have to send our son back to SA.

Anne de Klerk is the administrator of the Facebook group "South Africans - Securing your future in NZ". She has received amazing offers of financial support to the Damand Family to help them with their residency application costs. So this Give-a-Little page has been set up as a secure means to donate towards their cause.
From the Damand Family:
"We have been in this amazing country (NZ) for a little over 2 years and it pains me to say that we might not be here for much longer. Somewhere things got out of control, my husband lost his job and we got in way over our heads and in debt. I should have known better but I thought things will work out. Now we have a very limited time left to apply for our residency before our son has to leave and go back to South Africa. He is on a visitor Visa that has already been extended and he has to remain outside the country until we have residency. We don't have a good support system back in South Africa and I'm dreading sending him back on his own.
My husband now has a new job however it is with a significant pay cut, which means we still are unable to save enough money to afford the residency application in time before our son has to return to SA on his visitors visa. Once we have residency our son can remain in NZ and also work.
We have enough points and everything else in place but not the funds.
I tried saving but our weekly commitments are just too high. We can't afford to pay the application fee and I feel that we have let our son down.
We left South Africa for our kids and now we have to send one of them away from us.
Please be careful when making debt here, It is easily obtainable but as soon as something goes wrong you can get in over your head very quickly.
Don't get into debt, be very careful and get your residency application in as soon as possible. Don't make the same mistakes we made."
We need these funds to support our residency application. $530 for the expression of interest application and $2750 for the actual residency application.
