Kolkata Walk of Freedom
It was a great moment to hand the proceeds of the Kolkata Walk of Freedom over to Annie Hilton (Freeset Kolkata India) in person
The walk raised $7100 NZ dollars and will go along way to helping the girls/women that desperately need a better life
So once again a huge thank you to all who contributed
Done, done, done
After 10 months and 2700ks of walking we made it with one day to spare.
Please accept this as a huge thank you for those who have supported me (especially Linda). There were days it would have been so easy to give it up.
Most importantly from the bottom of my heart a huge thank you to all who have donated. Please be assured every cent will get to Kolkata and achieve the goal it is intended for.

Five days left to complete this very long walk.
I wanted to walk 2700Ks within 10 months before returning to Kolkata with the prospect of raising funds to help some girls caught up in prostitution.
I think we may have just accomplished that with the generosity of some very generous peoples.
The pic attached is one of the new rooms set up for machine operators in the Gateway building.
$2433 pledged . Just how close to $5500 can I get in four weeks. The amount pledged to date is totally awesome and will do so much when we hand it over to the guys in Kolkata in December this year.
This has been an incredible walk which at times I started to doubt myself but people have been really encouraging and then there are times I remember just exactly why I'm doing this

The target of $5,500 got a huge boost this week of $1000 by a very generous pledge from a person who I very grateful for. So as of today the amount pledged is $2418.50
This week was the most that has been walked in one week - 84ks . The walk from Pleasant Point to Geraldine on Sunday helped that along at 25k's. (6.5 hours later). So glad I started at 6.30am in the morning as the day heated up by lunchtime but thankfully I had finished by then. :)

We are now only a couple of dollars away from our first $1000 which will help Freeset give a girl/woman the choice of a new life. Five is the goal four to go
I know this is only a drop in the ocean when you see the amount of girls involved but Im sure we can make a difference for a few. And I know those few will be grateful

Wilson Street Baptist Youth group invited me to their night tonight to speak on Kolkata and the Kolkata Walk of Freedom
What a fantastic night and was so encouraged by all who were there
Then to top it all off Lydia organised a BBQ for next Sunday and the proceeds to go toward the Walk Of Freedom if I complete my target
It was even great to hear that a couple of girls made a couple of sweet items and had sold them to raise funds already
Sooooo if your not doing too much next Sunday it would be good to support the BBQ

656ks done 2044ks to go which is about the length of NZ from one end to the other
Staying motivated has been issue over the last week but I suppose if I keep looking at the daily K's needing to be done rather than the 2700k total it should be easier.

Daylight saving kicked in on Saturday so could be some walking in the dark

Its hard to get ahead with Winter fast approaching it would be great to have a few K's in reserve.

Wasn’t too sure if I was going to hit my weekly target Thursday was a sick day so wasn’t doing much walking
The weekend made up for it as I walked from Point to Cave covering 15k's on Saturday
