We didnt meet our target but here's how you can still help us...
19 December 2015Thank you so much for making a generous pledge to our Give a Little project. When the project closed $31,599.00 had been pledged by 134 generous backers. It's amazing to know that so many people support the initiative to bring yoga and mindfulness into prisons as a transformative practice. Crowdfunding is a great way to create an awareness of the crowd of like-minded people around us.
Unfortunately, the way Give a Little projects work is that unless the total pledged achieves the target the pledges made are not actioned. This means your credit card will not be automatically charged.
You do have the option of changing your pledge into a straight donation at the original dollar amount (or a different one), and obviously we are asking you to consider this. If we can raise funds at or around the level pledged, that will still allow us to support a significant number of additional yoga and mindfulness classes in prisons, and to provide support to teachers in the form of training and mentoring. Importantly, it also is a great platform for us to approach the large philanthropic trusts and corporate sponsors. It shows that a crowd of NZ'ers both believe in the value of yoga in prisons and care enough to donate.
If you want to turn your pledge into a donation, visit the following page: https://givealittle.co.nz/org/yogainprisons/
Please remember that you are under no obligation to do so. We greatly appreciate your offer of support, and fully understand if you are unable to take it further.
However, if you do choose to continue, please be assured that the resources will be used carefully for the purposes originally outlined. We will be reporting regularly through Facebook and email newsletters, and whether you choose to donate or not we hope you will continue to come on this journey with us. Your blessing is what we value most!
Please take care over the festive season, and we trust you will find time to reconnect to the things that sustain you most.
Blessings,
The Team at Yoga Education in Prisons Trust
