Ahi Ka Kapahaka to Japan 2026

$20,000 goal

Our rangatahi & young adults from Ahi Kā Kapa Haka have been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Japan and be part of a major show

Auckland

Our rangatahi and young adults from Ahi Kā Kapa Haka have been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Japan and be part of a major New Zealand trade show a global platform that connects people, culture, and opportunity.

This is more than just a trip.

It’s a chance for our young people to:

- Represent Aotearoa with pride through kapa haka and cultural performance

- Build leadership skills and confidence on an international stage

- Connect with global partners and networks that can open doors for future opportunities

- Create pathways not just for themselves, but for the many youth who will follow in their footsteps

For many of our rangatahi, opportunities like this don’t come often. This experience will expose them to new environments, cultures, helping them grow into strong leaders for our communities here at home and also potentially set the foundation for a pathway for other international opportunities for others in Ahi Ka to connect to.

We believe in investing in our young people now, so they can come back and uplift others.

We are fundraising to help cover:

- Flights and travel costs

- Accommodation

- Food and local transport

Every donation, big or small, will directly support our youth to take part in this life-changing opportunity.

By contributing, you are:

- Backing the next generation of Māori and Pacific leaders

- Supporting cultural exchange and representation on a global stage

- Helping create long-term opportunities and partnerships for our community

- Investing in a legacy that will benefit future Ahi Kā youth and young adults. This is a free open community kapahaka roopu that's part of the Ahi Ka Cultural academy.

Ngā mihi nui for your support.
