Running 153 laps of Rugby Park for the 153 Children diagnosed with cancer each year in New Zealand to help their families in 'The Long Run'
Canterbury
Every year, 153 Kiwi kids are diagnosed with cancer. For those kids and their families, diagnosis is the start of a long and difficult journey.
The Crusaders are committed to having a positive impact on our community, and we are humbled to be partnering with the Child Cancer Foundation to raise much-needed funding for their important work supporting families of children fighting Cancer.
In March 2022 Crusaders Academy Manager, Aaron Webb (Webby), ran more than 100km for the Child Cancer Foundation. Webby was so humbled by how many people came out to support him, that he came up with the idea of turning this into a community wide event in 2023 we can all get involved in and do our bit.
We know we are stronger together, so we at the Crusaders are challenging you to rally your family and friends together to sign up, challenge one another and raise as much money as we can for these children and their families who have been dealt an unthinkable hand.
The Long Run will start from 6am, we will be running a baton 153 times around Rugby and Malvern Parks (which will take most of the day), and we would love it if there were a huge group of people running or walking each and every lap with us. Whilst the running/walking continues throughout the day there will be a coffee cart, food trucks, inflatables and skills & drills for the kids, as well as visits from the Crusaders and Matatū players.
Thank you so much, I had the best day running with you and the Crusaders. The legs were good on Saturday and I went to the park with my cousins. Thanks for your support all day. Bring it on next year ❤️🖤🏃🏻
Thank you so much 🏃🏻❤️
