Kahu Youth's Annual Cardboard Boat Race is a family fav event which sees mates get together forming cabin crews. The goal is to create innovative, ingenious, hilarious and downright ridiculous boats bade solely out of cardboard and race them against each other in the lake – just for fun, a good laugh and some epic prizes.

For Youth – it’s about getting involved, getting creative with your friends and trying something new.

For Businesses - it’s a wonderful opportunity to embrace the community goodwill and get onboard with Kahu Youth to help make a difference in the lives of local youth.

There are three race categories:

First mates 8yrs - 14yrs

Salty Sailors 15yrs - 19yrs

Sea Dogs (and Business Boats) 20yrs+

This year we are encouraging each boat crew to create their own give a little page to help us fundraise - to make your own page click the participate button below.

All funds raised will go towards the fit out of our new Youth Centre, planned to open in 2023 within the old Mitre10 building. We hope to gain support in a manageable way from our community - little things make big things happen!
