Rumble in the Rubble is a Christchurch City open-air boxing fight night, held on Friday 17th April 2015 in Cathedral Square, Christchurch.

Contenders are from 16 different companies who are all contributing to the Christchurch rebuild. These contenders are coming straight off the construction site, and will be trading their hammers for gloves and putting their bodies on the line for the Rumble in the Rubble!

We believe this event is very much needed for Christchurch City, as our rebuilders are an integral part of our city and we see this as an opportunity to bring together the best of them for a night of action packed entertainment.

The event is as community focussed as possible, and although the vehicle is boxing the destination is camaraderie within the community and another way of connecting the people to the city and the rebuilding that is happening.

This year Rumble in the Rubble is excited to be supporting the For Everyone Charitable Foundation (FECF).

FECF was set up by Richie McCaw, Dan Carter and Ali Williams in 2009, after they had noticed while travelling around New Zealand that there were many communities struggling to raise funds for local projects.

That is why FECF aims to give out grants to community groups, schools and people around NZ who need less than $5000 for small projects that would otherwise be difficult to find funding for. These things might be small, but they mean the most to the people that they help.

FECF has funded everything from new playgrounds and a new set of life jackets, to new horses for disabled riders and funding for services for women affected by domestic violence who do not qualify for Government funding.

Their philosophy is that they love NZ! They want to unite Kiwis, celebrate our country and inspire more Kiwis to work together to help others. From co-founder Richie : “We’ve got some of our best leaders in their chosen field already on board with our vision to inspire our nation to unite and work together. Every little bit helps.”
