We are doing a walk at Takapuna Beach to raise funds for an ice machine for the North Shore Hospital Dialysis Unit.
Auckland
Thirst is a common symptom for patients who undergo dialysis treatment, but patients have a strict fluid intake due to the pressure that this puts on their bodies when the kidneys do not function properly. Ice is a simple solution, where patients can suck on a piece of ice to quench their thirst, but without significantly increasing their fluid intake.
Please support us by coming along for a fun walk at Takapuna Beach on Sunday 9 March 2025. You can walk for as far or long as you like, or just come along to say hi.
We will meet at 9.30am at the grass patch beside the Takapuna Beach Cafe- at the boat ramp end of the beach.
We kindly request a koha donation to join the walk. Funds raised will be donated to Well Foundation - the North Shore Hospital Charity, who will then purchase the ice machine once the target has been reached.
This event supports Miguel Lopez's Fundraising page which has further information about this cause and why he is fundraising for this ice machine: https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/walk-to-help-quench-our-thirst
