Jerry Collins Memorial Fund

  • Public Trust appointed

      21 August 2015

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this campaign and shared it with your communities. As we near the closing date, it is time to prepare for the transfer of the funds raised for baby Ayla into a trust fund for her future.

The Aera Foundation has appointed the Public Trust to set up a trust fund for Ayla's benefit - for her health, welfare and future, including her medical costs and education. The fund will be managed by the Public Trust, including the terms of access.

Thanks to all for taking part in the campaign,

    Derek

  • Update to Supporters

      15 June 2015

It’s been a little over a week since we started this campaign together on Givealittle and over 700 generous and loving people from all around the world have supported it.

Thank you all very much for rallying past the initial $25,000 target in funds raised, and for your kind words and thoughts that we will wrap together in one batch and forward to the family.

The Aera Foundation is working through the details of setting up the trust fund, and what this will look like, to ensure the proceeds stay true to the spirit of our collective effort. I am also in contact with Jerry Collins’ Manager, Tim Castle, who has many other urgent and painful things to attend to at this time, and will keep as our main point of contact.

The Spark Foundation has been amazing to work with. It leaves me very encouraged that this platform is in really wonderful hands for the future of New Zealanders and communities who need a healthy dose of Kiwi spirit in times of need from friends and strangers alike.

There were some technical difficulties preventing us from posting an update over the weekend, however the page is still open this week for further donations which will all be gratefully received. Please share and promote the campaign with your networks.

    Kia kaha, Derek
