At Auckland Cavy Care, several pregnant guinea pigs were surrendered in a short time frame and that has resulted in the rescue having 14 baby guinea pigs who are nearing de-sexing age - each Guinea gets a full check up on the day of their de-sexing which includes a dental, skin, faecal check.

The rescue has made a commitment to de-sex every Guinea Pig that enters their doors; the standard fee for each individual guinea pig at the vet is $100 with some needing extra medical care.
