Auckland
Our aim is to get Kiwis aware of better housing, diet and overall care for guinea pigs.
We take in un-wanted or homeless guinea pigs, they are given any needed vet treatment and de-sexed. Once healthy they are put up for adoption to a forever home.
The money you donate goes towards Vet treatment, de-sexing, food and hay.
Since being established in October 2012 we have had over 3,000 Guinea Pigs come into our care, where we have provided the necessary care, veterinary treatment & de-sexing

Fencing upgrade needed 24 January 2025
We are moving on our list of things to do to get the property back to a safe and secure standard.
Every day loose dogs come down the access way along the rescues fence line and enter our property from the street.
We have run our rescue Auckland Cavy Care from our home for 12 years now. We do not have a lot but what we do have we share freely with our rescue. This has taken a toll on our property, particularly over the last few years, since 2020 we have helped over 1300 animals through our rescue. We are at the point now where we must do some serious maintenance on the property to get it back to a safe place for us, our volunteers, and our rescue animals.
We would like to say thank you again for those that helped us get our decks sorted last year.
We have been working on small projects like painting & gardens but now is the time to look at the second major project for us – The fence lines between us and the off-leash dog park. We have, over the years, had working bees and tried to make it more dog proof to a higher level but at this stage in my life I need to get a job done that will last as long as I will. So, I have decided to work on getting a colour steel 2m fence in place between us, our rescues and the off-lease dogs.
We have some quotes so now we need to raise money to help us make this happen. We will put it into the council to see if they will pay 50% as it is their fence line too. This is not something we can undertake on our own, as the numbers are over $10,000.
