Heavy Hitters Charitable Trust

Clash for Construction 2023

$18,320 raised
16 Sep 2023

Raising much needed funds for Mates in Construction, working in the mental health and suicide prevention space.

Auckland

Presented by Heavy Hitters, the Hirepool ‘Clash for Construction’ Charity Boxing Event will see “tradies” step in the ring to raise funds for Mates in Construction and help them keep fighting the good fight around Suicide prevention.

All funds raised go to Mates in Construction.

We'll take a group of construction professionals, provide a 12 week fight camp kicking off in mid June and train across the winter months to come together for a fight night in mid-September and put it all on the line for their mates.

The coaches follow the progress of participants through the fight camp to ensure all match ups are not only even in weight/height etc, but also that they are a similar skill/confidence level to ensure everyone gets to go home safely.

Hirepool General Manager Sales & Marketing, Gary Richardson, explains, "We've been serving the trades for over six decades. The Hirepool Clash for Construction charity boxing match is all about giving back and helping to reduce the horrific statistics about suicide in our industry. Every dollar raised will go straight to Mates in Construction. These legends provide support and resources to those who need it most. By getting in behind this event, we’re hoping to raise awareness about the importance of supporting mental wellbeing in the construction industry.”
