Heavy Hitters Charitable Trust, raising much needed funds for mental health and suicide prevention causes

Nationwide

The Heavy Hitters story started back in 2012 as an idea that originally went nowhere. The idea of getting people in the tech sector was a novel idea, but never moved further than a concept.

After the 2013 suicide of boxing coach Doug McLay, Mike Dawes created IT Heavy Hitters, an event that has since raised over $600,000 for suicide prevention causes in NZ. The Heavy Hitters Charitable Trust is the next evolution in that, building on those events with a strong team and to continue to raise funds through sporting events for those working hard in the mental health and suicide prevention space.

More about us

Heavy Hitters Charitable Trust has been formed to continue and expand the work done through past IT Heavy Hitters events. Our primary purpose is to raise funds through sporting events for causes working hard in mental health and suicide prevention.
