#SleepOutForSyria is a one-night event to raise funds and awareness about the plight of Syrian refugees.
Auckland
Tearfund staff and churches across the country will ‘Sleep Out for Syria’ on June 18th (#sleepoutforsyria) by sleeping outside churches to raise awareness of the millions of refugees who have fled their homes, and to stand in solidarity with Tearfund’s partner, the Lebanese Baptist Society, who are helping refugee families on the border of Lebanon and Syria.
It symbolises the church as a place of hope where people in need can turn to. Funds raised go to Tearfund’s Syrian Refugee Appeal, which in turn goes to the Lebanese Baptist Society to help them continue to help families in need.
Tearfund is an International Aid and Development organisation moved by a deep sense of compassion and justice.
