We had so much fun in 2025, we're doing the Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon again! Raising money for youth living with diabetes in Otago.

Diabetes New Zealand’s mission Ensure every person living in Aotearoa New Zealand with diabetes or at risk of diabetes has equitable access to affordable, quality diabetes care and education, but we can’t do this without the help of generous, supportive and helpful Kiwis like you!

Type 1 Diabetes is a serious, life threatening, life-long condition, it can pose significant challenges for young people and their families as they move to self-management for serious physical health risks, mental and emotional wellbeing stresses, financial pressure, and difficulty fitting condition management around their lives.

Through our programme Live Brave Mana Ora in the Otago region we help families by providing vital resources, education, and community connection. With your support, we can continue to support via events and camps to empower young people living with type 1 diabetes.

You can support in a number of ways.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
