Otago

In my role as Youth and Type 1 Coordinator for Diabetes NZ, I am surrounded by brave, resilient, and determined young people living with Type 1 diabetes. Many have faced significant challenges, yet they continue to inspire me every day through the way they embrace life, pursue their goals, and refuse to let diabetes define or limit them.

Their courage motivates me to overcome my challenges and to take part in the half marathon event.

I will also be fundraising to ensure that the camps, youth events, and programmes we provide can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our young people.

Come on and be brave too - Join me in the half marathon, or show your support by donating to this page, please share this page with others who may be willing to make a donation to children and youth living with diabetes

Participating in

Join the Diabetes New Zealand Otago team in the 2026 Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon.

We had so much fun in 2025, we're doing the Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon again! Raising money for youth living with diabetes in Otago.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
