Conductive Education Canterbury provides Early Intervention services to babies and children with additional needs and disabilities.
Canterbury
We had so much fun last year that we thought we would do it again this year bigger & better! We are also holding our National Conductive Education Awareness Month alongside the Wheelie Awesome Wheel-a-thon.
The funding raised from this event will go towards the building of an accessible home for adults with disabilities who will be learning the necessary life skills so they can live more independently in the community. The rental from the house being used to cover the annual shortfall for Conductive Education Canterbury's early intervention service. Babies and young children and their whānau are benefitting from the income generated by the adults living in the house who are learning the skills to be as independent as possible. It’s a win win win!!
What is a wheel-a-thon?
Well it can be whatever you want it to be as long as wheels are involved! We have chosen wheels because all the children that we support at CEC use wheels in some shape or form whether it be a walking frame, a wheelchair, pushing a trolley, riding a bike etc. We wanted an event that everyone could participate in and contribute to.
Thanks so much Aunty Elinor!
