In Kolkata, a lot of kids don’t get to enjoy just being kids. Poverty and modern slavery don’t leave much room for fun or joy in their lives - but we think both are super important. That’s where Joyride comes in- it’s your chance to bring a little joy to kids’ lives!

The funds you raise through Joyride help to create spaces where kids can just play, laugh, and belong — instead of working as income earners or domestic help. Joyride sponsorship helps to send children to school, helps us to run youth groups, kids clubs, sporting events and community events. All so the kids in our communities can experience connection and joy.

We’ve had some incredible Joyriders over the past few years who have really helped us to grow this thing. Thanks to their support your fundraising now reaches even further. Not only will you help children and young people, you’ll also support the wider community with health clinics, legal services, vocational training, and social opportunities - so both adults and kids can thrive!

There’s no limit to how enjoyable or challenging you can make your Joyride. A few ideas:

- Challenge yourself to ride a distance you've never ridden before - this might be in a day, a week or a month

- Cycle to work in fancy dress for an entire month to spread joy to passers by!

- Hide the car keys for a fortnight and cycle everywhere during that time

- Create pictures with your rides on an app like Strava or Map My Ride.

- Attempt an Everesting Challenge! Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it until you climb the 8,848m elevation of Mt Everest. Some people Everest in one day some do it in one month.
