WE DID IT!!!!!!

On the 12th of December we finally faced our fears and dug into the deepest depths of our mental fortitude. We both made it across and felt an indescribable sense of elation afterwards! All the training had paid off and we had overcome some very real physical and mental hurdles along the way. If it hadn't been for the generous sponsors in the build up to the event, I likely would have pulled out at the point when ocean swimming was almost giving me panic attacks and I could swim no further than about ten metres without having to stop. I am immensely proud of Ellie and I. Since the event, Ellie succumbed to a second bout of giardia due to pushing her body too far. I have been undergoing physio on my knees. Breaststroke it seems was not designed for endurance swims!! I would do it all again though. What a journey. I am beyond grateful for all the kind donations received so far. This will ALL go towards preventing poaching of tigers in the wild. If you haven't sponsored and still wish to there is still time!!
