2 Cystic Sisters raising money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Tauranga Branch to help all the familys here in Tauranga .
Bay of Plenty
We are two cystic Sisters suffering with Cystic Fibrosis and are trying to raise some money for our local branch in Tauranga,
We both live a very challenging life spending every month on iv antibiotics. We spend half our life in hospital, days can be very challenging, but make the most of everything, we are both very lucky and have managed to have children and a great family support.
What is Cystic Fibrosis :
CF affects a number of organs in the body (especially the lungs and pancreas) by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus. In the lungs this can cause shortness of breath, a chronic cough and repeated chest infections. If the blockages affect the pancreas this will reduce or stop enzymes from being released to digest food, causing problems with poor weight gain and malnutrition due to malabsorption.
At present there is no cure for CF, but the affected gene has been identified and researchers are working to find ways to repair or replace it, and medications to treat CF complications.
Money raised is used for things such as equipment for kids and adults to help keep them active and for additional physio therapy and treatments.
We have decided to do a challenge of 65 days of good deeds which starts on saturday 20th june and ending on nz cystic fibrosis awareness week 17th - 23rd August ,raising lots or awareness while helping others out there to.
65 Roses comes from a child that struggled to say what he had cystic fibrosis, and if you say 65 roses fast it sounds just like it, so that is udes by many children now.
We are out there for the next 65 days doing at least a good deed a day in the tauranga community, all while raising awareness and money for Cystic fibrosis, we will be posting all out good deeds on our facebook page so follow us and share with everyone.
