My name is Louis and I am seven years old. I was born profoundly deaf in one ear. I would like to have a Cochlear Implant so I can hear .
Nationwide
Louis was born profoundly deaf in his right ear. Technology has advanced so fast that we are now able to use a Cochlear Implant to restore hearing in his deaf ear.
Unfortunately the New Zealand CI programme is unable to provide funding to cover Louis' Advanced Bionic Cochlear Implant, his surgery and audiology. We are hoping to raise this money ourselves.
As this is the first Cochlear Implant in New Zealand for this type of hearing loss we hope this hearing solution will open up the doors for those like Louis and in turn provide funding in the future from the government.
Louis, Liz and Hubert thank you for your support.

UPDATE: We have booked Louis' surgery for the 20th October. We are very excited for him. We want to thank all our wonderful donators for thier support and for other well wishers and support from some pretty amazing people.
