Lets get Pukekohe high schools 1st 11 to Timaru!!

This is a great group of boys who have shown a level of commitment to the team above and beyond requirements; they turn up to two early morning trainings a week including holidays, they work hard, they’re polite and respectful at all times (I kid you not!) They are a credit to their peers.

Currently top of their league and in their second season undefeated these boys deserve to go to Timaru and challenge in the Linwood Tournament. They are a team of good guys and great sportsmen who frequently receive praise from match officials for their conduct and attitude in games where sometimes the opposition can be anything but sportsmen.

The Linwood tournament will pitch them against some of the top teams throughout New Zealand and will be a wonderful experience for them both as a team and as young men. However, the cost which is looking to be in the region of about $988 per person (we need to take 16 boys plus staff) is proving to be excessive for many. It would be a shame in theses testing times to be forces cancel due to financial considerations or to leave valued members of the unit behind.

I know it’s not a personal gruelling attempt to cycle to Paris for cancer, or a marathon attempt for ill kids but it will be a wonderful learning experience for a group of fantastic hard working young men and one they will remember forever.

So please be a part of something special and help me and the team to make this happen. We are aiming to raise about 50% of what we need and to reduce the cost per player as much as we can before the end of the 25th of August.
