A Space for All

It was Friday during peak summer, and the Whangārei Masjid was packed shoulder-to-shoulder including late arrivals, including a young family traveling In the sisters' section, mothers sat tightly packed, keeping toddlers settled in a space that has simply grown too small for our thriving community.

​An elder watching from the back remembered when we were just a handful of families in a small living room. Now, Alhamdulillah, our rows are full of local families, professionals, and travelers. Allah has blessed Northland with growth—but with that growth comes a beautiful responsibility.

​The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."

​Every square meter of the neighboring 506m² property we are acquiring is an investment in our collective future. This investment will be to accommodate our kids as it will be for your children, ensuring they have the space they deserve. This extension means a dedicated, spacious area for our sisters, proper classrooms for our youth to learn Arabic language,the Quran, and a welcoming sanctuary for every traveler heading north.
