  • A cone no more :)

      11 January 2015

Well its a great start to Xanda's new year, tumour free! stitches free! and for her the best thing of all is cone free lol,she is a completely different dog to the one we met a few months ago.She is without doubt the sweetest husky i have ever met and now she just smiles all the time and has a spring in her step

We now have a financial goal to reach and due to a couple of sedation's due to some problems with her wound site the amount needed is $1000.

William at great South Rd Vets has been so kind and has changed this husky life forever,

Xanda has been back to the vet at great South Rd Vets for a dressing change and is progressing well, there was a slight hick-up with part of her wound bleeding but considering the size of the wound they are still pleased, the vet was worried there wouldn't be enough usable skin to suture the gaping wound but thankfully it seems to be holding, when we picked Xanda up to take to her appointment she was very happy, her eyes are bright and she definitely had a spring in her step, such a joy to see

  • Surgery a Success

After taking Xanda to visit the lovely William at Great South Road Vets in Papatoetoe, It was decided that Xanda needed her operation asap.

We informed William that at this point we didn't have the money to cover the operation and are trying to come up with ways to raise the money for the family.

Because of the weight and sizeof the lump and its rapid growth, not to mention the pain Xanda was in. William was happy to do Xanda,s surgery sooner rather than later.

All went well, Xanda had a huge amount cut out, the lump alone weighed a whopping 3kg,

She has been lucky and they have managed to get it all.

Now its recovery for Xanda and fundraising for us to pay this wonderful man,s bill. He truly is Xanda,s christmas Angel.

Let me tell you a little more about Xanda...she is the sweetest girl,12yrs old and loves everything! especially car rides, she loves her daily walk but unfortunatly due to the size and weight of the tumour this has now become so painful she struggles to get to the top of the drive,we have noticed that the tumour is growing rapidly!Xandas family love her very much and just want their girl returned to full health to see out her days pain free.William at Great South Rd Vets in Papatoetoe has given them a life line for Xanda and has agreed to do the surgery as soon as possible, here is the link to this wonderful vet clinic
