Help us remove Ada's tooth

  • The extra funds raised will go towards blood tests and urinalysis

      19 April 2014

Hi Chrissy, Yes we do use Safe Anaesthetic drugs (??,alfaxan) and will place an IV drip, use sterile equipment etc etc; no that does not include a pre-anaesthetic blood test. I guess I am thinking of Ada as a charity case without a large amount of financial backing and have kept the cost low because of this. A blood test and urinalysis will cost about $150, we should try to get this at least a day before the dental. It brings up a good point though I really need to get a consent form sorted over Easter that offers all the options so people can chose. Should we do a blood test for Ada? I guess that depends on whether you have another $150 to spend on her. If she is maintaining her weight and not drinking too much water I would consider it a calculated risk, but it is always better to run the bloods obviously. I would not be at all offended if you got another quote for removing the tooth, I would be interested to know if I am over priced. Removal of Upper PM4 + mucosal flap, Check scale and polish teeth, IV drip, Pain relief and antibiotics - $400. Price with blood test and urinalysis - $550 Kind regards, Simeon.

We will scale and polish all the teeth at the same time and check other teeth for periodontal pockets etc. It is quite a big job and can take an hour or so just to get the tooth out and place a mucosal flap over the wound after wards. kind regards, Simeon.
