Bike Taupo requires your help to build a new 1.5km downhill grade 4/5 track in Craters Mountain Bike Park
Nationwide
Bike Taupo requires your help to build a new downhill track in the Craters Mountain Bike Park. This track, formally known as "Budda" is one of the last tracks to be reinstated after the storm Taupo incurred approximately 2 years ago. This storm wrecked havoc upon the Park and resulted in most of the forest being felled. Bike Taupo has been working hard to get the Park back up to speed and it has been a great chance to redesign the area and look at new opportunities.
"Budda" will be approximately 1.5kms long and can be accessed from the top of "Beagle Boys" or from Craters Road. It is close to the car park and will be a grade 4/5, suitable for those wanting a hard out down hill, but also suitable to all abilities with "chicken shoot" options for the jumps. It will be a one way track with lots of cool corners, berms and wooden structures.
We are hoping to build this track also with the assistance of the local PD workers who are able to clear tracks, assist with digger work and build structures. This is also a great community service initiative which builds work skills and promotes well being.
We appreciate any donation to get this track build underway and hope that you will look forward to riding it in the near future.
Our good friends at Ground Effect have kindly donated $1000 from their slush fund towards this track build, Thanks Guys :)
