Missing: my mind and some other valuable items

      12 May 2015

After finding ourselves front page of the weekend paper it was crazy, the article was directed at the sting operation my mum set up with the help of the police, although we got our 15 seconds of fame we found that the article had lost some of the focus of our story. A few days past and no more donations flooded in, heartbroken because we had now lost our anonymity and our story to a media source we trusted we tried to figure a way to get back on top. We started communication with Fairfax and the people involved in the story and they responded positively to our pleas for a more in depth story, I spent all last night typing up some words I thought should be included in the story and now we have an article that WE are happy with and I'm so grateful to have a second chance and I really hopes this reaches the audience I want it to this time so look out for the Wellingtonian on Thursday because you're sure to see my face again but this time, on something I'm proud of.

  • This is what annihilation looks like - my bedroom after the burglary.

    Imagine the devastation?

My Mum didn't want me to see what the burglars did to my room, they did this in every room of the house, but every single thing in my room was uprooted, turned upside down, ruined, violated...so, so horrible.

  • Miracle

      21 April 2015

Last night after a huge operation we managed to find three items of ours via a Facebook page, a covert operation and a lot of contact with the police. we tracked down my laptop and two pieces of jewellery from fencers who have no connection to the crime itself but happened to have three of my things on them at the time of their arrest! So a 1 in a million thing happened yesterday, we got about 2% of our stolen goods back which is incredible really and we are all incredibly happy because it was truly a miracle, nobody ever gets stolen items back but my mum's hard work paid off and I got my computer back!! Me myself, I am doing okay, putting myself out there was huge and looking back on it I worry if it will affect my relationships with close friends etc, but I still think it was worth it, I really just want people out there to feel support from my story and to get out and ask for help before it gets bad, my life is rocky and the support workers I'm meant to catch up with frequently are either away or kinda useless so hopefully going to my group therapy on Wednesday will help me work through the trauma of the last few days. Life is nothing without the struggle but having people there to help you through the dark is absolutely key in a situation like this and I'm just so astounded by the support of our networks and the support I get everyday from my parents I love you all so much xoxo

  • Update number one.

      18 April 2015

This morning after a very little amount of sleep we had the police arrive with a forensics kit in hand, they took finger prints off almost every surface we had refrained from touching all night!

He informed us also that the house about 150 meters away from us also had one of their rooms ransacked and had their privacy taken away which was so heartbreaking to hear!

After dusting power over almost everything we gave him some details about possible dodgy people we've seen around lately, these could all just be random events that mean nothing but anything helps right?

Two hours later the cop left and we had a speechless moment when we checked our page, and we could not even fathom the response we have received 20 PEOPLE have taken time out of their day to help us and I've never felt so cared for and loved in my whole life, people are incredible this is more than I ever imagined, I hope we find the bastards that did this and that I can feel less fear everyday.

Today is a stuggle, but it will get better :) xx
