Hi everyone, this is just a quick update to let you all know that Deanna has finished her first round of chemo and her next is in less than 2 weeks, this cycle will repeat for 6 months before surgery. She must remain in Christchurch for the treatment as it is the highest level of chemotherapy due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. Deanna is very very unwell and in her mum's word " for the first time since the 19th of December has lost her smile" ;-( due to the nature of the chemo and the suffering that Deanna is going through right now, the family have asked for privacy. They will keep you updated as they work through their emotions and regain strength to be able to post again. This is a really really difficult time for them, so please be patient. Thankyou so much for your continued support.

  • Family is finally together

      17 January 2015

Well it's been a harrowing 4 weeks, with many ups and downs. Deanna has started chemo and is strong. We have had an amazing response to the 'Run for Deanna' event in Nelson, set to take place on the 31st January. There is still plenty of opportunity for people to take part in it, visit http://www.youfitu.com/run-for-deanna/. For now, the future is still very much uncertain, but what we can say is that over the past 4 weeks we have learnt that you really do have to make the most of everyday, knowing that in the blink of an eye your lives can be thrown into utter devastation and kaos. We are blown away at the generous support of EVERYONE. And can honestly say, you have been our angels in a very dark time. We feel so blessed to be able to be together today ??

  • Results expected today

      23 December 2014

Today is a big day for Deanna and her family. Results from yesterday bone scan and MRI are expected. This will hopefully eliminate the possibility that the cancer has spread. Today Deanna will also have a biopsy done. This will tell the doctors what type of chemo they will need to use. Please pray for peace over the family as they are separated at this time.
