Donna Needs Your Help

Donna was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, aged 37. This incredible mother of 3, had no history of breast cancer in her family so it was quite a shock. Donna took on the challenge head on (as she does) and had a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation, and until recently she had lived in the belief that she was in remission.

In May 2018 she heart-breakingly learned that the cancer had come back and this time it was in her bones. Currently there is no cure for her diagnosis and they have estimated that she has less than 2 to 3 years to live,

However, there is a non-funded drug available in New Zealand called Ibrance – unfortunately it costs about $6000 per month, but it will enable Donna to extend her life and have quality time to be with her family.

"I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana and would like to have as much quality time as possible to both continue to work to remain a productive member of society and spend time with those who are important to me, both family and friends."

Donna is normally the kind to be in the background supporting causes - she is the president of the Kaitaia BPW - which is an organisation that support women of all ages around the country and the world with different projects. Donna and her Husband Ewan are not the type to normally ask for help but now is the time to set pride aside and ask.
