The Matakana Hall Com. is eager to install Solar Panels and batteries to enable the Hall to be a Community Hub in the case of an Emergency.
Matakana, Auckland
Matakana Hall Committee is eager to enable Matakana Hall as a Community Emergency Hub when there's a Critical Event and install Solar Panels and batteries to provide an off-grid power source. Foundation North have donated a $15.000 grant towards the costs but we now need to match this to get the project underway.
Solar panels with batteries will enable the Hall to provide the essentials for the community: water, toilets, lights, charging stations and hot water in the event of power outages.
Any contribution, big or small, will help build resilience for the community when it's needed most.
Matakana Hall Society Inc. is the entity that owns and runs Matakana Hall for the benefit of the community. It has charitable status.
We need to match the grant from Foundation North to enable us to buy and install Solar panels and batteries at the Hall.
2 SOLAR PANELS 8 June 2026
To all of you kind and generous people who have lent your support to the Matakana Hall Emergency Hub Solar Panel Appeal, thank you so very much, the Givealittle Page had raised enough funds to buy and install 2 solar panels on the Hall roof. A fantastic result! Work will be starting soon, so keep your eyes peeled 👀
