As many of you know I have been diagnosed an aggressive Cancer one which I need your help to beat, please join me on my journey
Auckland
Many of you know that mid 2014 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.
I wasn't fazed in the slightest. It was what it was, and I thought 'well, if Cancer is my final destination then so be it'. Perhaps I was a little too arrogant about it?
After a round of surgery and a couple of unsuccessful rounds of chemo (by unsuccessful I mean my body did not metabolize it well, so with little choice I had to be discontinued) I was given the all clear and marched on my merry way.
On my one year follow-up scan I also received the remission card. Happy Days!
Only a short 20 weeks later I got that card taken away from me.
On Monday, 23 November I went in for diagnostic surgery for what my specialist thought was to be endometriosis.
It wasn't.
The Cancer is back, and in full force.
With a new diagnosis of Peritoneal Metastatic from the colon cancer, it's on my bowel, ovary, uterus and abdominal cavity.
This time isn't going to be a walk in the park. It's going to be a battle. A battle I AM GOING TO WIN once and for all. I WILL NOT let Cancer be my final destination.
As chemo is not an option for me (after trying 4 different types of chemo - 3 in 2014 and 1 this time round - it was decided with my Oncologist to discontinue due to the sever side effects) I am going to be seeking and exhausting every possible treatment option I can and with a little bit of your help come out the flip side of this like a shining new human!
With a mortgage to pay, and alternative treatments which are costing close to $1,000 per week, every little bit of assistance is received with so much gratitude.
My heart just pours with love and gratitude for the support I have received to date. If I can fight this battle just off the amount of love I feel then I'm pretty sure I have won already.
Love and light,
Erin xx
