Abbie is suffering from alopecia areata and needs help gaining funds to purchase a wig.
Canterbury
Abbie has had alopecia areata for a few years now.
Alopecia areata is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins.
She has tried all sorts of different treatments but none have worked.
At the moment it is really bad, with handfuls of hair falling out everyday and is getting to the point where she is unable to cover up any missing patches and needs to wear a wig to be able to live a normal life.
Being able to purchase a human hair natural wig would make all the difference as at the moment she is unable to go out without checking her hair placement often. The stress and worry this puts on her is not good for her physical or mental health
We are her friends and really want to be able to help Abbie gain her confidence back so she can be herself again.
She is such a loving person and goes out of her way to help others, it has been heart breaking to watch her go through this while knowing that there is nothing that we can do to help.
