Hot meals for war-weary Ukrainians
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
We are Jason from the United States and Amy from New Zealand. Last year, we created Never Alone - Humanitarian Kitchen for Ukraine. With the incredible support of the New Zealand people, we made our dream of bringing hot, nourishing meals to people living on the edge of the war in Ukraine a reality.
We spent three months cooking soups, stews, ragù, salads, and even cookies out of abandoned apartments close to the front lines. During this time, we fed 2,000 people. Time and time again, villagers would tell us that we had made them feel like they hadn’t been forgotten. It was hearing things like this that pushed us through some very difficult circumstances and motivated us to continue cooking and delivering food to people living in a nightmare.
We also helped the troops fighting for Ukraine's freedom by purchasing and delivering a range of equipment, including thermal clothing, generators, Starlinks, diesel heaters, drone jammers, medical supplies, water filtration systems, and vehicles.
Now we need to do it all again. The war is engulfing more of Ukraine every day, leaving thousands in dire situations. We can’t end the war, but we can definitely provide a moment of respite to those who have suffered far too much.
Help us return to Ukraine and continue our work!
