Please help us to give the 25 children at Home & Life Orphanage Thailand a special gift this Christmas, their own pounamu each from NZ.
Hawke's Bay
Home and Life Orphanage Thailand is located near Khao Lak, one of the worst affected areas on the devastating boxing day tsunami of 2004. The orphanage was set up in it's wake, and has continued to care for children who need help for different reasons since. It's a really positive, happy environment that is growing. It is totally self funded and relies on donations to survive. The children are all happy, healthy, well cared for and fed, but I thought it would be something extra special for them to have a gift of their own to treasure. Each child has a story of hardship, and in this small way I wanted to give them something to show them some love from NZ. Talented carver Aaron Greaves (www.facebook.com/Aaronsstones-Contemporary-stone-work-by-Aaron-Greaves-156285051107061/ ) from Hawkes Bay will be making all the children's pounamu.
I've recently been volunteering at Home & Life Orphanage, and thought it would be a nice idea to give something special for the children from New Zealand.
