It is time to travel half way across the world for a treatment to finally kick this MS into check!
Wellington
After trying to live a normal life since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and feeling my body progressively become less and less able we have finally decided it is time to go and get the only treatment that shows any promise of halting this insidious disease in its tracks. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the transplantation of stem cells, out of my body, then I will be blasted with Chemo to 'kill off' my Immune system, then be transplanted back my own stem cells to reboot my immune system without the faulty part that is attacking my central nervous system. This treatment is only offered in a small number of places throughout the world, I have been accepted in Singapore. With Approx. $130k in treatment costs and then 3 - 6 months lost wages, around $40k in accommodation costs and travel costs required for staying in Singapore for 3 months and have a number of 'carers' on hand at various times and the variety of other expenses involved in such a large undertaking, we are aiming for around $200,000 needed to cover the treatment. It sounds like a huge amount and there is no way we can cover all of that ourselves, so anyone out there who can help we will be endlessly appreciative. any amount even as small as $1 all helps, and we truly appreciate every cent.
