  • Look at her condition

Both Lockie and Mary Apple, her name now, are showing fabulous condition.

I've added a couple of photos of Mary Apple with weight on and a gleam in her eye.

Lockie has had his feet done and we'll be getting his teeth sorted in the new year.

We had to stable them both over Guy Fawkes as it was so loud and scary that they both were safer in the stables.

They're LOVING the sweet spring grass and having great days.

  • The mares condition and life so far..

Well, here she is, in all her beautiful weight on glory.

She's quite cheeky and confident on a good day and on a bad day she's flighty, difficult and a little crazy.

A really good friend had a big challenge of a horse with a checkered and violent history but after a long time, lots of learning and patience, the horse became her daughters ride for years.

Lockie is doing great, he's very protective of her but not when it comes to his dinner. He's still on hard feeds that we cook. He's down to once every 2 days but he gets a slab of Lucerne hay kindly donated by some very loverly people.

He's still a little skinny but once I get the tooth specialist to visit, I think he'll put more weight on quickly. Plenty of great spring grass in their paddocks.

Anyways, please have a look thru the gallery, they show before and after of them and just how far they've come.

Thanks for all the support. We loves you's...xx

  • New mare joins us.

Last weekend we welcomed a 7yr old mare to the paddocks. She was abandoned nearly 2 years ago. We heard that the person paddocking her wanted her gone so we took her. As yet to be named this scared wee lady has had a terrible beginning. She had been broken in by a violent trainer who broke her left eye socket.

The offset of this is that her trust in people is non existent and she's scared of everything. And she's not feeling too much joy at present but all that will slowly change with our attention and love.

She's very underweight but at least we can fix that quickly.

Not sure what we'll name her but she's got a lot of curiosity and watches us.
