Facility for those who wish to offer a financial contribution to the Mandeno family.
Auckland
'Yesterday afternoon my family's life changed forever. Mark, the kids and I were away on a beach holiday which was nearing its end. Mark was surfing in shallow water with the kids and was hit by a wave which sent him down into the water. We think he hit his head on the sand and the force of the wave dislocated his cervical vertebrae 6. Mark was unconscious face down in the water when rescued by angels who brought him ashore. It was quickly identified that he had no movement or feeling from his chest down. We were airlifted from the beach to Whangaei hospital where a CT scan identified a clear fracture to his cervical spine. We were then airlifted down to Middlemore hospital and I was greeted with the very real possibility that Mark may not ever walk again. As you can imagine - it was a rough night! It was hard to find hope with that reality!
Take nothing for granted. A moment can change our lives forever. Although our road ahead will not be without challenge - I am forever changed for the positive. I see the world differently and I will be different within the world and in turn my wish is that you are able to find hope in that..."

As a result of many requests over the past few days from Mark and Erin's friends and family I have set up this online facility so that we can pool togther donations for the Mandeno's. This facility offers a place where you can either leave an anonymous contribution, or you can choose to leave a note of love and support. At this point in time they are thinking it would be great to help with services to make life easier over the coming months, like a ready made meal delivery service for a while.

Hi, I'm Marks little sister. Mark and Erin feel a little weird about this, but they understand that there are many people out there wanting to help (and no one wants to bombard them with flowers when we could all be doing something that will truly make a difference). I have set this up so that they can chose when and how they use these funds in the future.
