This page has been made to support our wee Christmas miracle Stella & her family at this extremely hard time!
Bay of Plenty
Wee Stella Jaide was born 4 years ago on Christmas Day, a week early, her first week of life was spent in NICU at Waikato hospital, due to complications during birth.
She’s a true fighter! and she recovered well from this.
On Wednesday the 9th of January ‘19, she went to the doctors for a blood test, results were to come back the following day, just after 9pm that night her mother (Torie) received a call to say her results were in and she needed to take Stella to hospital immediately.
Torie was finally told just before 1am that Stella had Leukaemia (ALL- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) and she needed to be air lifted from Tauranga hospital to Starship to start treatment asap.
Yesterday morning, Stella had the first of many surgeries, lumbar puncture & bone marrow sample taken and also a portacath for all her future treatments. We’ve been told she will need treatment for at least the next 2 years, all lumbar punctures will be preformed at Starship while the rest of her treatments she’ll be able to have Tauranga hospital.
Torie will be up at starship for at least 2 weeks at this stage, with care of her oldest child Kadyn being shared between friends & family.
With Torie’s partner Josh also taking time off work to travel from Tauranga to Starship to support both of his girls.
I know so many of Torie’s friends and family want to help in some way so any contribution would be absolutely amazing!
I am Stella's Mother
The funds raised are to go to Torie, Josh & her family to help with taking time off work, travel, and everyday life.
