Update for 13/06/2014
13 June 2014It is with great pride and honour that I announce that I have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. I would just like to acknowledge that I most defiantly could not have done it without the support of everyone who donated. The messages of support and love really kept me going. I'm filled with extreme mixed emotions. On the one hand I'm so excited that my dream has finally come true, one I have dedicated so many years of my life too, and on the other hand I'm slightly saddened that I cannot share this experience with my beautiful mother. She would have been absolutely elated at this news, a ridiculous smile all over her face for days, this was just as much her dream as it was mine. I pray that she knows somehow that we did it, and that I could not have achieved what I have today without her unconditional love and constant support. She was the only one that believed in me and my almost impossible dream I made when I was 7 years old. I have done it. We have done it. You are all kind, generous and wonderful people for letting this Kiwi girl live out her ultimate dream. A special thank you to my incredible coach Marnie Sterner, she is my rock and an absolutely amazing coach. She has kept me going in the toughest of times and I know that my mum will be singing your praises up in heaven along with me down here for as long as I live. Thank you everyone. I cannot wait to represent New Zealand in Glasgow! Love Kelly xx
