HELP KEEP NEW ZEALAND’S SCHOOL POOLS OPEN
Join Water Safety New Zealand’s Mission to Keep School Pools Open.
At least 156 school pools have closed since 2008 and Water Safety New Zealand has decided enough is enough.
As a nation surrounded by water, it’s crucial our kids learn water safety skills and know how to swim to survive. The best place to do that is at a school pool.
Thirty schools – from a range of deciles - have so far contacted us seeking help to keep their school pools open. And there may be more.
These schools have exhausted all options – they’ve fundraised, sold keys and allocated what they can from their annual Ministry budgets – there are simply not enough funds to go around.
That’s why we’re asking for help.
If you’re a business offering a service that could help these schools we’d love to hear from you. Please email wsnz@watersafety.org.nz.
And if you’d like to help ensure Kiwi kids grow up learning vital swim and survival skills – as many of us did – please donate here.
All funds will go direct to a school pool in need.
Thank you.
As New Zealanders, we love the water - whether playing or surfing in it, boating or sailing on it, or simply enjoying our stunning coastline, beaches, lakes and rivers.
Sadly, every year, a large number of Kiwis lose their lives to drowning.
At Water Safety New Zealand, we believe we can achieve the goal of zero drowning - but to do so, we need your help.
Make water safety a priority for you and your family - learn to swim, wear and use the right safety equipment, learn survival skills and most importantly keep your loved ones, especially young children, close.
Lets enjoy this amazing country and its waterways together, safely.
